Parks in Auburn

Sunset Park is a neighborhood park that also includes two popular youth baseball/softball fields for tournament play and recreational leagues. The park also site includes a picnic shelter, popular play structure, trails, out
door basketball court and a skate park.

The park's amphitheater has a covered outdoor stage along with tiered open seating for performances, weddings and family gatherings. During the summer, it serves as a venue for various park events including Battle of the Bands in June and Auburn’s Summer Sounds in July.

Les Gove Park is a park, recreational and educational campus serving the entire community. The cluster of amenities in this campus includes the Library, Parks and Recreation Administration Building, Senior Center and White River Valley Museum. The park features bocce courts, horseshoe pits, a ? mile looped trail with exercise stations, two softball fields, play structure, and a variety of community facilities available for rental. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, children can enjoy the Rotary Spray Playground at the park.

This free 18-hole disc golf course is open for play year-round. Check with Mando's Disc Golf Store for the group/association information.
- Brannon Skate Park, 611 28th St. N.E., Auburn, WA 98001. Opened in 1999, this 8,000-square foot, free-form park is designed for both skateboard and inline skate enthusiasts. It offers a long snake, three bowls, 3-foot pyramid and grinding rails.

The Soos Creek State Fish Hatchery (SFH) has been in continuous operation since 1901. Adult chinook and coho are captured for on and off-season releases. The SFH produces approximately 3.2 million fall chinook sub-yearlings and 6000,000 coho yearlings (Kerwin and Nelson 2000). The hatchery is open daily from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
- Northwest Trek Wildlife Park, Eatonville where more than 400 acres of meadows and forests are home to bison, elk, moose, mountain goats and more. www.nwtrek.org
- Point Defiance Park Zoo & Aquarium, Tacoma, a 29-acre zoological park, which sits within the 700-acre Point Defiance Park. It is the only combined zoo and aquarium in the Pacific Northwest and focuses on animals from the Pacific Rim area. www.pdza.org

- Woodland Park Zoo, Seattle encompasses 92 acres and features more than 1,090 individual animals representing nearly 300 species.
